It was Pen-e-lope’s cantaloupe ridin’ on the back of a bison, Runnin’ in a herd of forty seven bison, Coming down from the tip of the mountain, Hooray for the Flicker bird, picked off a cedar bug, Runnin’ from the hand of the oven mitt squisher in the sun shine, Rodeo me oh my! Radio apple pie Living up the lease of the days, When runnin’ with the herd was a herd run run-around, Runnin’ hilly plains, Cinnamon in the stains, Wind in the grain, Turn the page, turn the page… Cantaloupe rolly pole rolled up a telly pole, 188 hooves rumbled in the rail-yard rainbow, Tent shack caravan pitched on the borders of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Take it back home to the town of Athelstan, Living up the lease of the days, When runnin’ with the herd was a herd run run-around, Runnin’ hilly plains, Cinnamon in the stains, Stars in the brain, Feelings in the rain, Wind in the grain, Turn the page… Oh… on the back of a bison Pen-e-lope’s cantaloupe, Runnin’ in a herd of four thousand bison, Coming down the tip of the tip top mountain, Hooray for the cedar bug runnin’ from the hand, Of the squisher in the mist to the sunshine, Tin top to the drip drop drips in the run down rainforest rainbow sun dog, Cantaloupe rolly pole swinging from the telly-pole, Eighty-seven people love their lives, Love their livers, the livers of their life, Rolly polly rumble doh! Living up the lease of the days, When runnin’ with the herd was a herd run run-around, Runnin’ hilly plains, Cinnamon in the stains, Stars in the brain, Feelings in the rain, Wind in the grain, Stars in the brain

Don’t ask for a million dollars cuz I’ll just bring you bread, But I guarantee that it’s the best darn bread that you will ever have, Don’t ask for a thousand ideas cuz all I’ve got is one, But I brought it down from the mountain-top Lord kissed it on the sun, Maybe today I’ll make a mile of iron, Maybe today I’ll wake up in the eye, Maybe today You’ll wanna feel the wind, Maybe today Look up for the whispered winds that tell you all your tales, Truth lies underneath the rocks and in the bellies of the whale, Fortune and gratitude are married side by side, Truth lies underneath the rocks and off to the top of the sky, Maybe today You’ll win a mile of iron, Maybe today You’ll sing a song of light, Maybe today You’ll look him in his eyes, Maybe today Um buppha meed arise Maybe today, I’ll walk a mile of iron, I just want to sit along in all these whispy years, Staring up at the sky with you, beneath our sudden fears, Casting through the year tonight and tell us of our tales None here will realize if it ever fails, Maybe today I’ll walk a mile of iron, Maybe today I’ll wanna follow lines, Maybe today I’ll walk a mile of iron,

Well I dreamt I found a hobo’s remains, Well I dreamt I found a hobo’s remains, Well I dreamt I found a hobo’s remains, When you go you know there’s no one to blame, Well a hobo travelled all around this world not alone, Seeking only freedom from the masks we put on, Step out in this world with the worry and the strife, Nothing comes to steal away the night, Well you know I saw an arc in the sky, I dreamt I saw an arc up in the sky, Well I dreamt I saw an arc up in the sky, It lifted up my heart I don’t know why, Well a hobo travelled all around this world all alone, Seeking only freedom from the words you put on, Lifting up the sunshine up above everyone, Holding up a section of the sky, Holding up a section in your eye, Well you know where there’s a light to comfort you, Well You know that there’s a light to comfort you, You know where there’s a light to comfort you, No matter what and when and whom you do, Well a hobo goes around this old world all alone, Seeking only freedom from the words of a song, Waves come and wash away his soul in the night, Stepping board a ship in the sky, Stepping board a ship in the sky, Stepping board a ship in the sky, Stepping board a ship in the sky

Well, this happened before A long time ago On the river banks the shore that you know Down in the old town Burying the mud Throw everything you can down Wash your soul clean and purify Oh the crows fly by and call You’re never going back to where you came again If you do it you’re only half a man If you do it you’re only half human If you do it you’re climbing up a building that everybody’s doing for fun Don’t throw yourself in the one, I’ve been around You’re listening to me I’ve been around You’re not listening to me Where are the golden streams of light promised to you my little dear? I’m looking for them in your hair; I saw them once there before Am I wasting material with this? Does it even matter? Beneath everything there is a song that you must sing Beneath everything there is a song that you must sing Beneath everything there is a song that you must sing

Moved up to here on the mountain top, Gonna go back home see the folks you know, Moved up to here on the mountain top, Looking for a home that you used to know, Moved up to here on the mountain top, Look at all the trees look at all the rocks, Moved up to here on the mountain top, Blissin’ in the breeze, blissin’ in the sun, The Air is clean, the air is pure, The water is wonders that I’ve never known, I am here sharing it with you, But sometimes you just miss your original home, Got yourself a brand new car, Left it back somewhere there, Walked down to the mailbox, When will winter end, will the spring come in? Moved up to here on the mountain top, Blissin’ in the Breeze, Blissin’ in the sun, Moved up to here on the mountain top, Look out along the Valley’s walls, Playing in the band on the weekend, Gonna be a star gonna be a humble one, Looked up tonight in the dark at the stars, Far they are, from the Earth, Gonna stick around for a little while, Make this our home, turn the earth, Gonna open up our hearts to the world, Gonna let it start, Do do do do do do dodo d do

Someday again I’ll taste that prairie spice, Dribble of love coming from heaven thrice, Until that day I’m on this dusty old road, Lost in the hills scratching for gold, I’ve been a fool in the night, I’ve been a fool in the day, I’ve been a class A old fool In the simplest of ways, Captured by gold on the emptiest hill, With a pan full of sand I be catching a …chill, Someday again I’ll be whistling a tune, As light as a breezy feather floating to you, I’ll take a chance on the wind and put up a kite, At the top of the hill with the shimmery lights, It’s been the cruelest of nights, It’s been the cruelest of days, And all I really want is to run run, Captured by love on the crest of the wave, With a heart full of blood and it run runs, Take my hand, lead me through this place Take my hand, lead me through this place Take my hand, lead me through this place Take my hand, Lordy Lord, lead me through this place, Someday again I’ll taste that prairie wind, Dribble of love coming from heaven within, Until that day I’m on this dusty old street, Lost in the hills scratching my feet, I’ve been a fool in the night, I’ve been a fool in the day, I’ve been a class A old fool In the simplest of ways, Captured by love on the crest of the wave, With a heart full of blood, And I’m hoping for change, Take my hand, lead me through this place Take my hand, lead me through this place Here I am, lead me through this place Here I am, Lord lead me through this place,

I’ve got brains in my head, And love in my heart, It hasn’t been so long, Where can we start? There are people on the street, And birds in the sky, When I grow up, I’m gonna fly, In the morning, I dreamed that I could, I floated down the stairs, Out into the neighborhood, Everyone was saying, “What’s going on?” The music started playing, I sang them a song, -In my dream last night, I drank some magic potion, Now I’m gonna fly across the sea, I’m gonna fly across the ocean, The fish under the waves, They are a singing, The seagulls up above, They are a winging, Across the great ocean, On the other side, I visited a new land, I stopped to say hi, Everybody there, Could really shake their legs, They could dance and dance and dance and dance, Just about all day, They became my friends, We hugged and shook hands, Then I had to go, So I floated off the land, Everyone was saying, “What’s going on?” The drums started beating, I sang them a song, -In my dream last night, I drank some magic potion, Now I’m gonna fly across the sea, I’m gonna fly across the ocean, The fish under the waves, They are a singing, The seagulls up above, They are a winging, So then I flew back home, Mom was there waiting, In the warm oven, There were muffins baking, I went to hug her but then I heard my name.. Wake up, wake up… I opened up my eyes, The morning had come, It really was a dream, But it sure was fun! Mom was there saying, “What’s going on?” Music started playing, I sang her a song, -In my dream last night, I drank some magic potion, I flew across the sea, I flew across the ocean, The fish under the waves, They are a singing, The seagulls up above, They are a winging, Well there are feet in my shoes, And warmth in my heart, It hasn’t been long, We’ve gone so far.

Well Joey I am alive, I am lookin’ for I know you are too, We drove into the canyon’s breath, Just to find one pair of golden shoes, I know you will return, I know you will return, If you let yourself come back home, Now Joey if you find me I will be alone, Well the Jackpine stands alone, Where the clear-cut has taken things away, And it stands as a token remaining tree, Not to be put away, Oh joey, Joey are you going to call? Oh Joey, Joey send me a song in the meadow, I am waiting for you dear, I am waiting again, Oh the clubs at night send fear through my spine, As I travel and drift with my voice, I sing for the drunk and I sing for the party, And I sing because of a vice, I know dear that you will return, And save me from all of these woes, Yet you are only human, And I have to blow my nose, I am going if you don’t show, I am going if you let me go, Joey, Ohwee ohwee oh oh wee oh

Every turn of the page leads into another age, Every time they send a look you read just like a golden holy book, Every surge of the sun, every swelling up of the moon, Every star over every sky, brings a lonesome sad and old and lonely cry, Way down by the river, The pebbles sift to the smoothest of sand, Way down by the water, The stars on the ripple hold onto your hand, As you cross in the night, and a new day is born, Whoooh… There’s a lady on the rise, And she holds her hand up to the sky, They say every thousand years, Someone comes to hold onto you, help you drop away your fears, As they fall like tears to earth, The dervishes begin to turn, As they fall like rusted leaves, Flowers do grow hope in the grey, It will finally come the wars will all melt away It will finally come the wars will all melt away Way down by the river, The pebbles sift to the smoothest of sand, Way down by the water, The stars on the ripple hold onto your hand, As you cross in the night, and a new day is born, Whoooh… Way down by the river, Boulders sift to the smoothest of dust, Way down by the water, The stars on the ripple hold onto the rust, As you cross in the night, and a new day is born
